ZAMBIA’Sbudget airline Proflight has awarded the country’s top travel agents for their sterling work in promoting domestic and international tourism.
Proflight commercial director Keira Lanford-Johnson said the travel agents have been key in attracting and making travel easier for tourists wanting to travel.

Voyagers Zambia won first place in theProflight-flown revenue category followed by Juls Travel and Discovery Travel.
In the people’s choice awards, Voyagers scooped theaward for Best Agency to Work With, while Blueberry Travel was recognised asthe Most Sympathetic Agency for schedule changes, and CIAO Travel won the BestSales Agent We Love accolade.
The Highest Flown Charter Revenue award went to Discovery Travel, which received two return flights to Durban, and Ukwenda Travel in second place, receiving one return flight to any Proflight destination of their choice.
Mrs Langford-Johnson added that “this year has been very exciting, and we wish to strengthen and take our relationship with travel agents further in 2019.”
This year expects to fly 163,600 passengers, a 15% increase, while flying over 3 million kilometres.
With Zambian tourism and air travel growing, travel agents have been among the key image builders of Zambia as a tourist destination, contributing valuable foreign exchange earnings to the economy.
Proflight has been proactive offering discounts and promotions that have motivated travel agents and tour operators to create affordable travel packages.
