BLACKPanther star Danai Gurira, Touchroad International Holdings Group chairman He Liehui, rugby player Tendai “Beast” Mtawarira and songstress Penelope Jane Powers (PJ Powers) have been appointed tourism ambassadors.
Speaking at the launch of Tour Africa-New Horizon Project, Environment, Tourism and Hospitality Industry Minister Prisca Mupfumira said this is to ensure that the tourism sector is ably represented.
“The launch of Tour Africa comes at a time when we as government are re-engaging the world to come and invest in Zimbabwe. As such we have also made strides to ensure that we are ably represented by patriotic Tourism Ambassadors regardless of race, colour or creed.

“I therefore, wish to take this opportunity to officially announce that my Ministry has appointed the following Ambassadors for tourism promotion: He Liehui, Tendai Mtawarira, Danai Gurira and PJ Powers.
“The Ambassadors will be officially appointed at an appropriate time. However, because he is present with us here today, l officially present the Ambassadorial Certificate to Mr. He Lihue,” she said.

Mr. Liehui, a key player in the Belt and Road Initiative, is President and Manager of Touch road International Holdings Group and is the think tank behind the Tour Africa- New Horizon Project.
He has been instrumental in bringing investors from China with an anchor in all sectors of the Zimbabwean economy. He coordinated the China-Zimbabwe Business forums in April and June 2018.

The Tourism Minister also revealed that they will be appointing more tourism ambassadors and called for stakeholders to help in identifying them.
“We will be rolling out more ambassadors to be our eyes and ears in all influential corners of the country.
“Let me extend sincerest gratitude to the Ambassador of China to Zimbabwe. I also thank our Ambassador and Partner, Mr. Liehui for making this day a success. I also thank every entity and individual that has been a part of this massive launch,” she said.
