Air Zimbabwe partners ZTA for Sanganai/Hlanganani

AIR Zimbabwe has partnered with the Zimbabwe Tourism Authority (ZTA) to be the official domestic carrier for this year’s edition of Sanganai/Hlanganani World Tourism Expo.

Sanganai/Hlanganani which is in the 12th edition will kick off on the 12th to the 14th of September at the Zimbabwe International Trade Fair (ZITF) grounds in Bulawayo.

In a statement, ZTA head of corporate affairs Godfrey Koti, confirmed the partnership with the airline adding that they were excited by the development as Air Zimbabwe plays an important role in the country’s tourism sector.

“Air Zimbabwe has several flights to the majestic Victoria Falls from Harare and Bulawayo. This year Air Zimbabwe have partnered with us as we host the 12th edition of Sanganai/Hlanganani World Tourism

Expo following an MOU signed between the two organisations (ZTA and Air Zimbabwe),” he said.

Commenting on the MOU, Air Zimbabwe corporate communications officer Firstme Vitori said the airline is delighted by the opportunity to facilitate tourism.

“As Air Zimbabwe, we are excited to partner with the Zimbabwe Tourism Authority (ZTA) once again as the official airline for the domestic travel for Sanganai/Hlanganani World Tourism Expo 2019 as we continue to facilitate Tourism, Investment and Trade.

“All efforts have been put in place in order to ensure a smooth movement of buyers and exhibitors on our domestic routes  Harare/Bulawayo/Victoria Falls/ Harare,” she said

Vitori also took the opportunity to announce that Air Zimbabwe will be exhibiting at this year’s expo.

“As an exhibitor at this year’s expo, we are also looking forward to fruitful engagements with the diverse spectrum of domestic, regional and international buyers who are scheduled to attend Sanganai/Hlanganani 2019. The engagements are expected to include the proposed additional domestic routes such as Kariba and Buffalo Range among others,” she said.

With this MOU, Air Zimbabwe joins Ethiopian Airlines which also signed a similar MOU with ZTA recently.

Meanwhile, Koti has also revealed that some international buyers have already arrived in the country and have started the pre-Sanganai/Hlanganani tours to major tourist attractions sites such as Nyanga, Gonarezhou and Victoria Falls.

The pre and post tours will cover the whole of Zimbabwe and will give the buyers the first-hand experience of the tourist destinations and activities available for visitors to Zimbabwe. Over 270 buyers, exhibitors and media are expected to attend the expo.
