Barbara Rwodzi appointed Tourism Minister

Zanu PF legislator Barbara Rwodzi has been appointed Minister of Tourism and Hospitality Industry.

Rwodzi, who was the Deputy Minister in the tourism ministry in the previous term, takes over from Mangaliso Ndlovu. She will be deputised by Honourable Tongai Mafidhi Mnangagwa.

Minister Rwodzi takesover the reigns at a time when tourism statistics are on a positive note where arrivals increased by 62% (from 366 062 to 591 524), and receipts grew by 16% (from $343.1 million to $397,37 million) in the first half of 2023.

Tourism is one of the key pillars for economic growth in Zimbabwe together with agriculture and mining.
