ZIMBABWE Tourism Authority (ZTA) is taking advantage of the 2019 edition of Asambeni Tourism Fair to promote the Meetings Incentives Conferences and Exhibition (MICE) tourism.

Asambeni is an annual tourism fair which runs concurrently with the Zimbabwe International Trade Fair.

According to ZTA’s acting chief executive Rita Likukuma they are promoting MICE tourism because it has proven that it has potential to sustain the tourism economy even in difficult times.

“Asambeni timing is to our advantage as most companies both local and international will be exhibiting at the international trade showcase which means most of the decision makers will be converged at one place.

“This will give them exposure to gather more intelligence on incentive travel as well as conferencing and events which we hope in future will bear fruits as it has managed to make the tourism industry stay afloat in previous years,” she said.

The ZTA is also taking advantage of the 60th edition of ZITF to roll out its domestic tourism campaign with a view to educate the locals on tourism.

Asambeni like Sanganai/Hlanganani World Travel Expo gives people an opportunity to make enquiries from the various tourism players who are exhibiting in Hall 3 to get a better understanding of tourism products and pricing structures.
