ZITF which hosts the biggest business exhibition in the country and also own the largest exhibition facility has not been very visible at international and most local tourism events where ZTA will be exhibiting.

This is despite the fact that ZTA is promoting Meetings, Incentives, Conferences and Exhibitions (MICE) business in the country basing on ZITF facilities.

Asked on whether they have a good working relationship with ZTA, ZITF chairman Ruth Ncube said all is well adding that they are actually partners in many forums.

“ZTA is a partner within what we do, we work together, we travel together, we exhibit together and in the event that we are not physically present they do take most of our collateral with them and we do the same as well.

“And we host within ZIFT their biggest show which is Sanganai/Hlanganani World Travel Expo which happens every in Bulawayo and we work with them, we coordinate that even for them.

“Definitely there is no competition between us and ZTA. We are represented in most of their forums and similar to ours, they are a good partner that we are working amicably with them,” she said.

Adding her voice to the issue, ZITF corporate and marketing manager Stella Nkomo concurred with Ncube adding that “ZTA are part and parcel of us we work together there is no completion at all and when they are doing their strategies, we are also part of them as a group and our venue which is the ZITF is one of the venues they are profiling.

“When we go out there we do go out with them, we give them our marketing collateral in fact when they go for international exhibitions they take part of our staff with them,” she said.
