Tourism Authority (ZTA) acting executive director National Conventional Bureau Pauline Ndlovu has said about 150 international buyers and 15 international media have confirmed their participation at this year’s Sanganai/Hlanganani World Travel Expo.
The tourism expo is expected to take place from the 12th to the 14th of September at the Zimbabwe International Trade Fair in Bulawayo.
Speaking on the sidelines of the Exhibitor Training Program held in Harare Ndlovu said “there is great anticipation from the 10 international media houses that are coming as well as the five which we are hosting.
“Over and above this we have 150 international buyers who are coming and one of the highlights this year is the research conference whereby it’s going to be strictly by invitation.
“The reason being that we don’t want the event to be oversubscribed but at the same time we want buyers to interact with service providers,” she said.
According to Ndlovu, the buyers are coming from South Africa, Europe, China-Asia-Pacific, Ghana and the UK.
Other highlights of the world tourism expo are Speed Networking scheduled for September 12 to 13, the award and official opening on September 13.
There will be a buyers’ tour on September 30.
The acting executive director urged exhibitors to be ready by the September 9 a date on which they will be given their badges. With regards to power and fuel challenges bedevilling the country, Ndlovu assured exhibitors that there will be the uninterrupted power supply and adequate fuel stocks during the time of the expo.
