ONE of the world’s premium lager beers Budweiser is set to be officially launched onto the Zambian market in a move that is expected to shake up the beverage market.
According to a statement, the public launch is set for August 25 at the Gymkhana Club at the Lusaka Showground and is dubbed the Budweiser Party Kingdom.
Arguably the world’s favourite, Budweiser is the largest beer brand with presence in 20 countries across the world. The medium-bodied beer has a unique drinkability and aroma that has earned it the well-deserved title of ‘The King of Beers.’
Budweiser is AB InBev’s leading global brand and the latest addition to local subsidiary Zambian Breweries’ burgeoning portfolio of world-class beverages.
AB InBev is slowly making its giant presence felt by bringing its internationally recognised beer brands into the SADC region following its acquisition of SAB Miller.
Early this year during the Zimbabwe International Trade Fair, Delta Corporation also revealed that it was introducing Budweiser and other AB InBev products such as Stella Artois and Corona.
In an interview then (during ZITF) Delta Corporation’s corporate affairs executive Patricia Murambinda said “very soon we are looking at introducing Budweiser, Stella Artois and Corona; they will join the family by virtue of Delta Corporation association ABInBev.

“The beers are not yet here officially but we have seen them on the black market people are importing them from South Africa but we are bringing them officially as Delta sometime soon.
“Currently I cannot comment on how they have been received because it’s not us supplying them as Delta, I can only comment when we begin to supply them,” she said.

The coming in of international brands in the beverages sector is a good development especially for Zimbabwe in terms of tourism as it is in the process of trying to lure tourists from around the world.
Zimbabwe Tourism Authority (ZTA) is in the process of implementing its various tourism marketing strategies with a view to increasing the number of arrivals and beverages such as beer play a critical role in tourism as tourists come to enjoy themselves.
Meanwhile, revellers to the Budweiser Party Kingdom will be treated to entertainment from some of the region’s best DJs, including Zambian house music pioneer DJ El Mukuka, DJing and award-winning DJ Switch from South Africa.

The line-up also includes Ghana’s favourite party turntablist, DJ Lastic; the electrifying DJ Boogie, one of Zambia’s fastest rising stars in the mixing industry; DJ Nano; the versatile DJ Creejay and DJ Sebastien Dutch, a talented local music producer and remixer who has developed his own brand of electro house music.
Aside from the onstage entertainment, partygoers get the chance to groove to their favourite mix across multiple genres in three on-site rave containers. The rave containers will play a variety of commercial, hip-hop, dance and house music, ensuring every party taste is satisfied.
The Budweiser Party Kingdom is organised by Zambian Breweries in partnership with R&G events.
