About 18 tourism agencies drawn from European countries have began familiarisation tours of Zimbabwe’s tourism destinations.
The 18 agencies who are from Germany, France, Portugal and Spain will be taken through a diversity of the Zimbabwe’s tourism products during the 12-day adventure.
Zimbabwe Tourism Authority (ZTA) confirmed the news through a statement adding that the tour will help deepen the understanding of destination Zimbabwe by the European tourism market.
“As the countdown to the Sanganai/Hlanganani Dzimbahwe Tourism Expo 2026 gathers momentum, 18 Tourism Agencies from Germany, France, Portugal and Spain are undertaking a 12-day familiarisation tour designed to deepen the European Tourism market’s understanding of Destination Zimbabwe.
“Moving through Harare, Great Zimbabwe, Gonarezhou, Matobo, Hwange and Victoria Falls, the tour is strategically exposing Tourism professionals to the depth and diversity of Zimbabwe’s Tourism product, enabling them to package and sell experiences across multiple destinations rather than concentrating demand around Victoria Falls,” read the statement.
ZTA added that the growing development of 9–21-day Zimbabwe packages in the European market signals increasing confidence in the destination and presents an opportunity to convert product exposure into longer stays, wider tourist dispersal and increased tourism receipts.
According to ZTA, the tour of Zimbabwe by professionals who influence consumer travel decisions, strengthens the country’s market positioning, promotes lesser-explored destinations and extends the economic benefits of tourism to more communities.
When Tourism professionals experience the destination first-hand, they gain the confidence to market Zimbabwe with greater depth, authenticity and conviction,” said ZTA
