ENVIRONMENT, Tourism and Hospitality Industry Minister Prisca Mupfumira has promised to take Chinese tourists to the Mtarazi Falls.
Mtarazi Falls is a 762m tiered horsetail waterfall making it Zimbabwe’s highest waterfall, obscuring even the mighty Victoria Falls and second highest in Africa after the Tugela Falls in KwaZulu-Natal, South Africa.
Zimbabwe is currently receiving about 350 Chinese tourists monthly under the Tour Africa-New Horizon which is being spearheaded by Touchroad International Holdings Group.
Speaking at the official opening of the falls, Minister Mupfumira said “after my experience on the skywalk, I can confidently market Zimbabwe with my testimony of adventure tourism. As you noticed last month we had the Chinese tourists and we are planning on bringing them to Mtarazi since we will be receiving such groups every month.
| “We have so many God-given natural resources which many thought were for the international traveller but now we are encouraging the domestic tourist to take part in sampling the products,” she said. |
The Sky Walk and Zip Line is a brainchild of a local investor Bernard Craig under his company Far and Wide. The Sky Walk is exceptionally made up of two bridges, the first one being 30m that takes you over part of the falls and the other 90m that is above the entire falls. The two suspension bridges are designed to allow for a full panoramic view of the Mtarazi Falls.
The Sky Line depending on the day, one may find themselves flying through clouds or crystal-clear skies over the 2nd highest waterfall in Africa. The sense of adventure at Mtarazi allows you to connect to the natural world, waterfalls and the blue skies with adrenaline pumping through your veins.-
