ZTA targets MICE business from Meetings Show London
Zimbabwe Tourism Authority (ZTA) chief executive Winnie Muchanyuka has revealed that Zimbabwe will use its participation at the Meetings Show London 2022 to lure MICE events.
Meetings Show London 2022 started on the 28th of June and will run-up to the 30th.
The country is said to have great potential for Meetings Incentives Conventions and Exhibition (MICE) business which is untapped.
This resulted in Zimbabwe launching the MICE Campaign dubbed Meet In Zimbabwe during the 2021 edition of the Sanganai/Hlanganani World Travel Expo.
Speaking on the show, Muchanyuka revealed that they will work with international operators to bring MICE business to Zimbabwe.
‘’The ZTA will be engaging with the international community in an effort to bring MICE events into Zimbabwe, a World of Wonders. Zimbabwe has diverse and spectacular scenery from green and fragrant Tea and Coffee plantations in the hills to desert-like areas with pristine wildlife and exceptional people.
‘’Zimbabwe is one of the high conducive destinations in Southern Africa where meeting organisers are guaranteed successful meetings and giving their delegates treasured memories.
‘’MICE Tourism development and promotion requires active participation by all tourism players and support services suppliers to engage the international market and association pool if we are to attract the large number of conferences needed by the destination,’’ she said.
Meetings Show London is one of the leading business tourism (MICE) fairs in the UK where Associations, Conference Organisers, Meeting Planners, Convention Bureaus, Exhibition Organisers, and Buyers meet and generate network and business leads.-
