23 tourists from key European markets visit Zimbabwe

The Zimbabwe Tourism Authority (ZTA) has revealed that about 23 tourists from key European markets have arrived in the country to experience the country’s diverse tourism offerings.

The arriving 23 tourists are from such countries as Germany, Mexico and Indonesia, which are some of the leading source markets for the country.

Germany remains among Zimbabwe’s top five International Tourism source markets, underscoring its strategic importance to the growth of Zimbabwe’s Tourism Industry.

Writing on its X handle, ZTA said the visit by the 23 tourists was facilitated by Virginia Hetze, the daughter of the late mbira music icon Stella Chiweshe.

‘’The delegation, comprising 20 German nationals, 2 Mexican nationals and 1 Indonesian national, was accorded a warm Zimbabwean welcome.

‘’Facilitated by Ms. Virginia Hetze, daughter of the late Zimbabwean mbira music icon Stella Chiweshe, the visit reflects the growing contribution of the Zimbabwean Diaspora in promoting the Experience Zimbabwe destination brand and encouraging International Tourists to explore Zimbabwe.

‘’The delegation will tour some of Zimbabwe’s premier Tourism destinations, including Nyanga, Gonarezhou National Park, Masvingo, Bulawayo and Victoria Falls, showcasing the country’s rich cultural heritage, abundant wildlife and iconic attractions.

‘’The Government reaffirmed its commitment to supporting Diaspora-led tourism initiatives during a welcome dinner hosted for the Tourists, where the Minister of Tourism and Hospitality Industry Hon Barbara Rwodzi, was represented by the Chief Director in the Ministry Ms Tarirai Musonza.

‘’In her remarks, Ms. Musonza welcomed the delegation to Zimbabwe, applauded Ms. Hetze for championing the Experience Zimbabwe destination brand in Germany and underscored the important role of the diaspora in expanding Zimbabwe’s global tourism profile, driving International Tourist arrivals and fostering Cultural Exchange.’’
