Antelope Parks moans Milo the lion

Leading safari operator and lion rehabilitation concern Antelope Park which is based in Gweru has announced the death of one of its lions Milo.

Milo was one of the organisation’s rehabilitation and release programs was put to rest on the 6th of February.

According to Antelope Park, Milo the lion had been battling with his health.

In a statement, Antelope Park said ‘’It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of a legend of Antelope Park lions and a pioneer of our rehabilitation and release program.

‘’Milo has sadly left us today after battling with his health for the last few weeks. Today he deteriorated to a point where his quality of life was no longer there and we made the very tough call to put him to rest,’’ read the announcement that was posted on the organisation’s page.

Antelope Park added that the lion had lived longer than average life.

‘’Born on the 7th of December 2002, Milo enjoyed a longer than an average life with us and we are deeply saddened by his passing. Rest well you amazing boy, you will be remembered through your offspring, and in particular your handsome son Amadi,’’ added the statement.

Lions are part of the big five animals and Zimbabwe has been commended for its efforts in preserving the lions from extinction.
